In today's world-wide uprising social environments, we tend to watch the events cut up, and then take them for granted. The internet and social networking services contribute and accelerate this point of view. We would ask and redefine our view of the world with the metaphors created by two Japanese artists. “Blind Spot” is the shadow of our perception, in-between of reality and mirage, next to the presentiment of the moment of sudden disarray.
Mari Minato's two channel video installation ''Time and Distance'' shows Paris-Kyoto Skype transmission of her painting performance, contrasting the heavy creative tension at one side and the loose voyeuism attitude or silent indifference at the opposite.
Daisuke Nagaoka's new video installation ''Shadows of the Carve'' effectively uses an old fashioned overhead projector to show certain anxiety which surrounds our era. We watch a shadow theater of the various carved figures without realizing that the whole things might go disappearing in darkness when the light turned off.

Dans le monde contemporain bouleversé, nous avons tendance à regarder les événements bruts, tels qu'ils sont, sans trop y prêter attention. Internet et les réseaux sociaux contribuent à développer cette tendance. Dans cette nouvelle exposition "Blind Spot", deux artistes japonais nous invitent à revoir le monde autrement au travers de leurs métaphores. "Blind Spot" est l'ombre de nos perceptions, intermédiaire entre réalité et mirage, pas loin du pressentiment d'un soudain désarroi.
L'installation "Temps et Distance" de Mari Minato, basée sur la dualité des média, nous montre la retransmission entre Paris et Kyoto par Skype de la création d'une de ses fresques murales. Le contraste est remarquable entre la tension créatrice d'un côté et le voyeurisme détaché ou l’indifférence silencieuse de l’autre.
La nouvelle installation vidéo de Daisuke Nagaoka "Shadows of the Carve" utilise avec efficacité le rétroprojecteur, objet dorénavant inusité, pour nous montrer l'anxiété de notre époque. Nous voyons les silhouettes projetées dans ce théâtre d'ombres sans nous rendre compte que tout retournera dans les ténèbres.
