Steven Tabutt
Overture (part 1 & 2) est la troisième exposition personnelle de l’artiste New-Yorkais Steven Tabbutt à la Galerie Yukiko Kawase. Celle-ci présente un nouveau corps d’œuvres d’art sur le thème de la musique, le cinéma, le théâtre, le roman fantastique et le portrait historique.
Combinant la peinture classique et le dessin, le travail de Steven est d’une intensité dramatique rare et trouve ses racines dans l’esthétique et la narration de contes de fées, des légendes et de la mythologie. Cette exposition rassemble des œuvres récentes de 2012 à maintenant, y compris des créations encore jamais exposées. Mais on manquera pas non plus les dessins et les études de ses débuts. Tout cela compose un univers de créatures hybrides et leurs actions transcendantes.

Overture (part 1 & 2) is the third solo exhibition by New York artist Steven Tabbutt at Galerie Yukiko Kawase presenting a new body of artworks around the theme of music, film, drama, fantasy novel, and historical society portrait.
Combining classical painting and drawing, Steven’s work of rare dramatic intensity finds its roots in the aesthetic and narrative of fairy tales, legends and mythology. We have here gathered a series of the recent works since 2012, including never exhibited ones. Also, not to be missed will be the drawings, studies and sketches from his earlier years. Altogether, they weave a universe of hybrid creatures, and their actions being transcendent.
